Education Projects

Our work on Education Projects includes supporting planning applications for pre-school nurseries, the provision of feasibility advice to the Department for Education (DfE) on their school redevelopment programme and working directly with either the school or the education authority in providing detailed input to support planning applications for new schools or extensions to existing schools.

Mitigating the impact of parent parking outside the school gates at drop-off and pick-up times is an important aspect of such projects. We have found that the production of a Travel Plan, and support from the school management team/board of governors are vital in minimising the impact of parent parking. Occasionally mitigation measures are required, such as lined or physical parking restrictions and the identification of park-and-stride locations.
