Apartment Schemes

These schemes can range in size from 10 to over 200 apartments. Many larger schemes of this kind can be in city/district centre locations and have some form of ground floor commercial use.

Input to these projects usually requires scoping the input with the Local Highway Authority and the production of a Transport Statement and Travel Plan. The level of parking provision and the servicing strategy are of particular importance with such schemes, as these factors can add significant costs and thus impact the viability of the project. We therefore review the parking provision in terms of the number of spaces being provided and the compliance with the Local Highway Authority’s standards. We are also required to review the scheme layout with swept path analysis to ensure vehicles can enter the site, access the parking spaces and exit the site safely. We also provide advice on the servicing strategy, in particular how refuse collection vehicles can service the site.
